NASA Astronaut Claims Huge Alien Cover-up
The Asgard from Stargate SG-1 may be real after all.
Dr. Edgar Mitchell, a former NASA astronaut, has just announced that governments have been repeatedly covering up alien visits for the last 6 decades. And he’s finally ready to talk.
Mitchell brings some credibility to his statements: first off, he’s a moon-walker. If you’re like me, when I first read the headline, I thought the article was about a former 80s dancer who used those cheap Michael Jackson dance moves. And I thought, “Well, yea, he *would* be crazy.” But Edgar Mitchell actually *walked* on the moon.
Edgar claims these real-life aliens look like the typical description: small frames, large eyes and head. In other words, our “grey” friends from Stargate might just be real. What’s next? Stargate is real? Daniel Jackson exists?
(I wish… And yes, I’m wishing more for Daniel Jackson than for a Stargate. And no, the actor doesn’t count. I want a *real* Daniel Jackson – cute, single, smart, and involved with a top-secret government scifi project. *swoon*)
But back to the story at hand… Mitchell claims our technology is nothing compared to what the aliens have. How does he know? He claims that being a former astronaut and all, he is privy to intelligence information.
Do we believe him? And if it’s true, why is he sharing this NOW? According to Mitchell, the cover-up started right after World War II. Now, he says, countries across the world (Mexico, Brazil, etc.) are starting to open their files, thus precipitating his announcement.
Could the United States successfully cover something like this? Sure it could. But just because the U.S. can, doesn’t mean it *is.*Or is it? (Insert spooky sci-fi music here.) 
Already, people are discounting Mitchell’s tale. NASA has denied his statements. Others are pointing to his history as a man always interested in consciousness and paranormal phenomenon. He’s too “fringe.”
Interestingly, he’s not the first person to make this announcement. He’s not even the first astronaut to claim this.
Gordon Cooper, also one of America’s first astronauts, has been saying for years that aliens are real and the government is covering it all up.
And in 2005, Paul Hellyer, Canada’s Defence Minister from 1963-1967, stated that UFOs are real and are being covered up. And don’t forget that the Vatican just recently announced that the existence of aliens would not hinder the faith at all. Coincidence?
Probably. But isn’t it more fun to imagine otherwise?
So, what do you think? Is it true? If it is, I hope the government releases the information in our lifetime. I’d really like to travel through a Stargate someday.

At first I thought you were writing some kind of funny story, but now I see it’s true info!
Seriously? WOW.
I think I’m too creeped out to believe it. I haven’t given it much thought, even though I’ve always been fascinated with Stargate and The X-files and things like that. When it comes to real life…Gak! I just don’t know. Why not, I guess? What would one gain from hiding it? Or exposing it?

After watching countless hours and hours of Star Treks, Babylon 5’s, Star Wars, and dozens of other sci-fi shows you can think of we’ve seen endless speculation on what alien species and more importantly alien societies might be like.
The vast majority of those fictional societies are still very Earth-like. And the majority of those are Western in flavor. That’s all understandable, since the viewing audience has to be able to relate to these societies in a small amount of time. Klingons, Romulans, Mon Calamari, Narn, Centauri, Colonials, Newcomers, Imperials, Rebels – we understand them quickly even if they have bumpy heads and warlike mentalities because they still have family units, senses of honor, etc.
But a real, honest-to-goodness alien species. Even if they are bipedal, single-headed, vertically walking…. how can we possibly be able to understand their culture? Can we adapt? Can they adapt to us enough to have a meaningful dialogue? I don’t really believe we’ll all be enslaved and sent back to planet Mongo, used as food for their larval pods or blasted into little piles of radioactive goo, but still. How do we, in our seemingly infinite cultural variances, relate as a world to an alien civilization?
ON A DIFFERENT NOTE – Dube – any word from ComicCon this past weekend on “Lost”? As in, did anything come of that commercial that was on the end of the season finale and reportedly would have some kind of presence at the convention? Have you heard of anything viral marketing-related in the works for this hiatus like “The Lost Experience” and “Find 815″ in the past?

WHY WOULD ANY BODY THINK THAT ANY GOVERNMENT WOULD EXPOSE THE FACT THEY EXIST…NUMBER 1 ALMOST EVERY MAJOR POWER ALREADY HAS A FEW OF THEM IN THERE POSES ION AND IS REVERSE ENGINEERING ALL THE TECHNOLOGY…KEEP IN MIND THAT THE ONLY REASON WHY THESE BEING HAVE NOT DESTROYED US IS BECAUSE THEY ARE US AND WE ARE THEM…BUT IN THE FUTURE…IN TIME MAN WILL LOOK LIKE THEM AS MAN EXPANDS ITS HORIZON TO THE STARS…STOP ASKING IS IT TRUE…ITS REAL AND ITS IN OUR FACES!!

I wouldn’t be suprised at governments covering up such information. But what a waste of time if they had! Perhaps it would have given us a sense of cohesion as a planet-wide society in the larger community. If an intelligent alien species has travelled here, they would know a great deal more than us about the universe, as well as have sufficently advanced technology to make that journey. What we could learn from them!
Providing of course, that they are (a) friendly, and (b) willing to teach us. Though there is the potential to learn more just from their presence, as such an event would alter our perceptions.
Personally I’m disinclined to believe it, given the lack of evidence available to any reliable body of people.
Should such an event as the Stargate occur, I will of course be beating off you, and every girl I know, to get to Daniel Jackson first!

Truth or fiction?
Likely some of each…
Do governments cover things up? Well let’s see… Who still believes that good ‘ole Lee Harvey was the lone gunman in 1963? People who were somebody in that administration who happened to be in the motorcade in Dallas that day have come out recently saying “the mortal shots came from the front or side” Big surprise, eh? RFK new why it happened and who did it. It could not be made public for many reasons.
Who still believes the fairytale that the jets were the cause of those buildings “imploding,” that it was a large commercial jet that hit the Pentagon, and that United 91 was not shot down on 09/11/2001? Maybe someday the truth will start to leak about that one too but not likely in our lifetime.
World governments have much to lose if they allow us to see that we are not the most powerful beings in the universe!
Then there is organized religion! These folks are professionals at selling their product through fear! Look what they stand to lose if someone proves that their bible may have the dirty fingerprints of man interlaced with the actual word of our creator!
Those of you, who may worry about this being true, cease and desist! If these beings had intended to harm us they would have fried our no – wisdom, no – tolerance, no – sense butts a long time ago! Life is too short to let it be plagued by anxiety of any kind! Just enjoy it!
