Literarydeadkittens (your name is cracking me up!) – The musical just gets better each time you watch it.

Jen – You’re right. The songs just flowed perfectly into the script. More Whedon genius!

Melody – LOL! I still have moments when I wish the ending had been happier. I really wanted them to be together!

Aaron – You should. Buffy has that Whedon trademark humor mixed with angst & sorrow.

Kate – Me too! I heard they might be making a sequel.

I’m mad, but for a different reason. I thought I had one more day (last Saturday) to view the rest of Act II and all of Act III that I hadn’t gotten to before they went to pay-only on Sunday. But by the time I got to them Saturday afternoon, they were already removed from the free site. Ah well, now I’ll never see them…

amazing post which completely captures everything I felt when I watching this superb piece of filmmaking. It’s unique release made it feel all the more special and I felt honoured to have been able to watch it. Sounds sad, I know, but this is how I felt!

It was brilliant. I just finished watching it for the second time (before it went away). Like everything Whedon seems to do, it was very funny, but also very poignant. I like that about him.

I really should go back and watch Buffy now that I’m a Whedon convert…

I was really, really mad at the end of the third act. Then I thought, “He kind of did Les Mis in a half an hour. Which is definitely genius.

Then I went back to being really, really mad again.

What a great synopsis. You highlighted all the best parts without revealing too much. I felt the exact same way when it ended. I sat there feeling like I just got blind sided by a train or something. I couldn’t believe it was over and ended like that. It all made sense but…NO!!!! It took me a day to come to terms with the ending.
I bought it on iTunes so I can watch it whenever I want but I’ll be getting the DVD, too.
What i liked best was that for a musical the songs didn’t feel intrusive. Most musical (at least modern ones) always feel forced. It seems fake that suddenly everyone breaks into song. With Dr. Horrible I barely noticed the singing, it just blended so well and the songs went perfectly with what was going on. I loved the Dr. Horrible/Penny songs.
The whole thing was just…awesome. Joss Whedon is a genius.

I think another watch is worthwhile before it goes off the air. Now waiting for the release of the DVD, and yes, Joss Whedon most definitely inspires.

Whatever format Dr Horrible takes from here on out, I’m looking forward to it!
